Kicking Off Mom's Visit with Dinner at Ray's

We mostly just let Mom rest today after her long day of travel yesterday. We had a low-key day, dropping the kids off at school, hanging out at the house, and then heading into Seattle for dinner at Ray's Boathouse, an iconic Seattle restaurant since 1945.

"Have a great day at school, Ollie!"

Dinner at Ray's was awesome. It's not for nothing that this place has gained an international reputation for seafood and has been featured in the New York Times, Gourmet Magazine, the Chicago Tribune and Food & Wine.

We had window-seats just as the sun was setting. Mom
ordered an amazing salmon dinner and I had mussels.

Even though I try to limit the carbs, I had to have extra
crusty bread to soak up all this delicious broth!

We had an amazing table right by the window to watch the sunset over the
Puget Sound. The Olympic Mountains (where we'll drive next weekend)
are in the far distance.

The Ray's sign is famous.

After dinner, we walked down to the little beach where my friend Angie
and I put in our paddleboards for our stand-up paddleboard yoga classes.
The boys scouted around for clam shells and seaweed in the waning light.
